Floyd is a great boxer, one of the best ever. He's also a pretty terrible fighter because he doesn't actually fight. Tremendous skill for sure, but there's a reason guys with multiple losses are significantly more beloved than Floyd ever will be. It's funny but there was a tremendous action fight, FOTY candidate a few weeks ago between Provodnikov and Matthysse, but no one really paid much attention to that. Had that fight gone done last night, we'd be talking about how boxing is saved. Instead Floyd killed it apparently.
I really doubt Manny wins 5 years ago. Remember Floyd is even faster if this is 5 years ago and maybe Manny doesn't land a single meaningful shot instead of landing 3 or 4. Floyd was always a terrible matchup for Manny and he proved it last night. Didn't help that Manny had an awful game plan that was basically fight how Floyd wants to. Should have let his gloves go and gone for broke from round 1.
