Just because a player took a hit to the head and appeared to be dazed doesn't mean he had a concussion. You also can't diagnose a concussion from watching on TV. With all the attention concussions are getting in pro sports now I would be surprised if he had a concussion and played on Sunday (or even practiced today).
Shutting him down for the rest of the game as a precaution was a safe bet. Even if it was only precautionary. Observe him to ensure he is okay instead of trusting him to be honest in a situation where a guy may not be honest with himself or the trainers.
