Hello CPHL
Not a whole lot to report today as the league seems to be at an all-time standstill the past few weeks. But let’s get to the gossip:
- Two CPHL Commissioners were seen meeting with representatives from the European Leagues. Could a change to the Euro rule be on the way?
- Rumors out of Detroit say that offers are flying in on Simon Gagne; however GM Guns seems set on only dealing him if it can bring in a top net minder as part of the deal.
- Rumors out of Tampa Bay are that GM Drew is very irate about Brad Richardson holding out. This will most likely end on a sour note and see Richardson take is 3 NHL goals elsewhere.
- There seems to be lots of talk out of both the Islanders and Canucks camps, however both GM’s seem hesitant to pull the trigger unless they find the ideal trade to help their clubs.
- New Coyote’s GM Adam Macpherson to be going all out to find veteran leadership, do not be surprised to find youngsters RJ Umberger, Rene Bourque, and Freddy Meyer all starting the season with new zip codes.
- The Nordiques once short on defensemen, now find them short forwards, and look for them to deal a defenseman for a forward very soon.
- Agent Martin is still waiting for Tile in his house and if this job does not get done soon and well, you can expect it to negatively affect contracts.
- The Oilers are in need of another star upfront, but the asking price is high, look for the Oilers to package up Samsonov and a young stud to land this missing piece.
- The Pittsburgh Penguins look more like the Pittsburgh Canadiens; and people should not expect this to stop, my sources tell me the Pens are close to landing another NHL Hab.
- GM and newly appointed Commissioner Farhall was seen weeping in a corner at a local pub when news broke that Evgeni Malkin will be spending another season overseas.
- There are so many rumours flying out of LA that not even GM Sra can confirm or deny them, Sra was quoted as saying “I send out so many offers to so many teams that not even I can keep track, expect Jonathan Girard to have a more in-depth role in player personal this upcoming season.”
- Is there really GM’s running St. Louis and San Jose? These teams have appeared to be on autopilot for a long time now.
Well folks that is it for the today’s gossip. Can’t wait for some big trades to break!
Cheers,
Eklunde
