Status symbols are one thing but there is a lot to be said for the enjoyment that comes from driving a 500 hp beast.
I drove GT-R on a track in Vegas and it was probably one the best experiences I've had in my life. It's one thing if cars don't excite you but if you're a guy like me, then it's not even a question what I'd devote the most money too. I'd live in a relatively worse house for example, if it meant I could afford a dream car (along with vacations and just overall more disposable income). Terrible financial outlook but I don't care. It's what we car guys love.
