I was there with my wife & two younger sisters (all of us in our 20's) after game 6. We experienced nothing but good fun, and we spent the majority of the night on the corner of National (I believe that's 10th?). Admittedly, there was a heavy cop presence at that spot though so I believe people were well behaved accordingly.

There were many an obnoxious fan around us, but nothing lewd. I'm certain lewd things are being said and done, but that's what happens when you win an elimination game, have alcohol/drugs, scantily clad women & hormones all mixed together unfortunately. You'll never get rid of those types of things which is unfortunate. The key is minimizing it by getting the message out and remind your less than sober neighbor to be a good reveler, not a doosh.

Like the ol' saying goes, be a Fan not a Fanattic.

For the most part though, I think the Red Mile is as safe as any other street in downtown on any given night. I am very proud of the enthusiasm at the Red Mile & the generally well behaved large crowds.

PS: I parked way over by Stephen Ave and walked down to 17th. I don't care if this part sounds condescending or offensive to the overly sensitive PC crowd, but along the walk I saw a bunch of vehicles along McLeod of visible minority families with Papa driving and Mama waving a car flag and a van full of kids all reveling. I found it extremely endearing that these new Canadians were embracing the Flames and the culture of Calgary. You could tell they were having a blast the same as everyone else
