I do a lot of hiking in China and there are innumerable places to go to that are beautiful and feel really special and personal. They're way more fun than either Huangshan or Huashan.
Ah, I see, that makes sense. Actually last time we went to China we hiked up Emeishan (near Chengdu). Never have I ever seen such throngs of humanity in my life. Insane roads, insane driving, pushing and shoving local tourists, dense fog, peaceful buddhist monks and pretty monasteries. I can echo the "I'm glad I went, but I'll never go back"

Sure wish I had the camera I have now back in 2012 when we did this trip.

Chengdu was amazing, by far my favorite city in China.
