Default Should the Flames, City of Calgary and CPS attempt to remake the Red Mile ?

In reply to a post that suggested that drunken louts deserved a place to party and celebrate Flames wins, and other posts that implied women or families who ventured there do so at their own risk, I kind of flippantly asked "Why can't the Red Mail be a PG-13 experience?

As I said in my post, how cool would it be for kids, with their parents, to join in a celebration with thousands of other Calgarians? I think I said it would be a memory of a lifetime for the kids.

Why do we need a give up the street to drunken revellers when it could be enjoyed by so many more Calgarians if alcohol were removed from the equation?
