Hey Canucks!
Flames lead series 3-2
I said it in the post game thread, but that was nearly the absolute best the Canucks can play, and it wasn't nearly the best the Flames can play, yet the Canucks won just 2-1. I kind of figured that would happen. Throw in some favorable officiating, terrible ice conditions, and Miller playing well when he was tested, and the Flames had a lot of things go against them last game. Tonight, they will have the crowd behind them, and that alone should give them the boost they need to win. Although, they won't need a lot of extra motivation the way they're talking about it. From the comments yesterday, confidence abounds in the Flames locker room. Backlund has made an unofficial guarantee to win this game tonight. The rest are feeling loose and excited, not necessarily feeling a lot of pressure.
I don't have a whole lot else to talk about today. End the Canucks tonight. Bounce back from the last loss and finish this series on home ice.
Roster Notes: Nearly impossible to know who will be in the lineup tonight. Flames had an optional practice and there were several Canucks missing from practice yesterday. Desjardins did say the missing players would all be available for the game tonight, so likely it was just maintenance. I doubt you see many changes in the lineup tonight.
