I watched a lot of Ekblad this year, and nobody had a bigger impact on his team than he did. He also did that as an 18 year old. He wasn't nearly as flashy as the other nominees, but he did everything you could ask of an 18 year old and more. It won't be long before he's winning Norris trophies.
That opinion also considers how incredible Gaudreau has been this year, and what an amazing stretch run Stone had. I just don't know if I've seen a defenseman have an 18 year old season like that....maybe ever. Truly, he's going to be an exceptional player for a long time.
