Yeah my wife didn't want anything to do with that sticker price (esp since it's for my PC, not hers). I'm paying out of pocket, but that's okay. I usually save a few grand for PC related expenditures every year, so this just counts for my Q2 spending

More technical notes:

Color is very good, a bit better than the Dell U2412Ms I use at work. Miles ahead of the TN panel I have now relegated to a second monitor.

Screen is crisp and 120hz/144hz is blowing me away, even just for day-to-day Windows use.

GSync is a revelation, especially for a guy who absolutely must use VSYNC at all times.

FPS gaming is unreal. Sniping has never been easier in CS:GO, TF2, and BF4.

2560x1440 is really the best balanced resolution at the moment. True 4k is too much of a push on videocards unless you are SLIing 980/Titans and requires a screen larger than 30" to really take advantage of when speaking in monitor/2 foot viewing terms.

If I had one gripe (outside of the price obvs) is that it came with 1 (out of 3.7 million) stuck pixel (that I had to hunt for to even find). I had to run a pixel unsticker for ~1 hour to get rid of it.

That said, 4k + Gsync (like the XB280HK) would probably be pretty dope, but #### TN panels forever. Gaming on IPS is something I'm going find hard to turn my back on (much to my pocketbook's regret).
