Because it's bound to happen for every team at some point? NHL franchises play a lot of games in a lot of different buildings for decades upon decades. At some time every team going to go on a long losing streak in a certain building (especially once you add in the loser point and shootouts which take away the option of a tie).
There doesn't have to be an explanation for every little stat in sports. Sometimes it's just the way probability works.
