I haven't gone through this entire thread, but I'm sure that this opinion must have been stated already....
Edmonton now has great depth in centre, but I will only be scared of them if they trade Hall. Hall is a defensive liability, and doesn't engender a team atmosphere. And somehow he is looked to as a leader at the same time. In terms of team play, I think that divesting themselves of Hall's leadership would go a long way towards making the Oilers a dangerous team.
Hall sympathizers always bring up his point totals. In a team game, who cares? Alexander Semin has as much raw talent as Hall, but is bad defensively and doesn't play a team game. These kinds of players are addition through subtraction, no matter how many points they are capable of putting up.
I wouldn't worry about the Oilers unless Hall is moved, and then I'll become interested in their potential.
