It's definitely something, and I like when the broadcast focuses on thing like that. Lack's Dad flew in from Sweden to see those two games, it's a good story.
But my lord, show it once and get it over with. It felt like regional coverage. For two games they cut to Lack's father over and over again. It's unprofessional. If I was Lack's dad and saw the 1st game back in the hotel on PVR I'd try to get word to CBC to cut it out for game 2.
The coverage has been poor all around though. It's not up to the CBC Playoff standard. Ron McLean is criminally underused, no one sets the stage and tells a story like him in this country. Use Strombo on your panels and interviews, but McLean should have a presence. Also Scott Oake, put away your damn broken down iPhone. Two segments last night he used it as a prop. Clean that thing up if you're going to put it on TV, get a new screen protector. Don't use a noise app and think it's legit.
The one major thing is the intro videos. This used to be CBC's bread and butter, and nothing started a new series off right then a CBC montage video set up by McLean with appropriate music. I was really disappointed we didn't get that. Now it's all Sportsnet generic music with a brutal deep toned voice over.
Got off topic there, but ugh, coverage has been poor.
