Had some time to think about this. I think it's the right call that Hamhuis didn't get suspended. Bennett is somewhat hunched over and if you watch the super slo-mo replay Hamhuis makes contact with the shoulder (albeit a glancing blow) then contact is made with Bennett's jaw. Hamhuis isn't a repeat offender (AFAIK) and I believe the contact is incidental. Jureasonopinion.
The Burrows hit was similar to Ferland's hit on Sbisa, though Burrows approached more from behind that Ferly. The boarding call was the right call. I believe the instigator was uncalled for. Russell approached Burrows and it wasn't to talk stock options over tea and biscuits. I don't believe it was Russell's intention to drop the mitts, but it wasn't out of the question.
Bikesa on Ferland was utter garbage, but something like that was bound to happen. Bikesa got 4 solid punches in before Ferly dropped his mitts. That should have been an instigator, however the league is probably looking at Hartley play his 4th line in the dying minutes again, however they didn't start anything this time.
Personally, I'm happy that no one got suspended, because then Canucks fans everywhere would whine and pout about two of Vancouver's best players being out and claiming that is the reason the Canucks couldn't make it past the first round. When Calgary beats Vancouver, I want the Canucks to be perfectly healthy. I don't want Canucks fans to have any copout or reason to justify the Canucks losing to the Flames.
