I used to live in Vancouver and used to go to most of the Flames games there. Never went to a playoff game, but in the regular season, I have seen lots of heckling of Flames fans and the odd case of violence. The worst thing that ever happened to me personally was that I had some jackass behind me keep spilling a little beer on me and acting like it was an accident.

I always got in and out of the arena fine, but if someone starts mouthing off, there is always going to be someone who will be happy to escalate things. It's the wonders of alcohol usually. I did experience bathroom heckling before though and it is really annoying.

If you are an opposing fan, just do your best to be respectful and let the heckling slide off you. I am willing to bet that we didn't hear the whole story here.
