It also sounds like the typical pattern for probably 75% of Flames games (sloppy 1st, great in the 3rd). Our lack of shots in the 1st had a lot to do with the team simply not playing well than the Sedins or Canucks dominating. They were not passing well and seemed a little to on edge.
I get what Desjardin was doing. They had a lead and the Sedins are the types of players you put out to stifle the other team's offense. He was probably trying to preserve their energy in the series. It was a miscalculation to assume that a 1 goal lead was time to do that though.
