Based on everything I've heard about sleep country, if you didn't get 50-60% off the regular price and maybe pillows or something, you're being hosed.

Couple years old, but as far as I know, still valid.
DoubleF's dumb story about haggling.
Spoiler!
My SO and I tried this once to see if this forum talk was true and to see if we were any good at haggling. Furthermore, her father had walked away with a King Koil for 65% off in Sask. We were able to get the mattress down 40% from listed price just sitting on the one we liked (memory foam) and chatting about dumb stuff for an hour and insisting on sitting on and "trying out" a specific mattress. No negotiation skills necessary. I'm pretty darn sure you can do this even on a tempurpedic even though the retail on some of those things is like 4-8 grand. You probably need at least some level of minuscule negotiation skills for the last 10% ish.
IIRC They start removing stuff like bed boxes and bed frames and add random manufacturer rebates they "suddenly found" and decrease warranty etc. We never bought that bed, but just an anecdote about how seriously easy it is to knock down prices at sleep country. They guy was seriously trying to sell us Tempurpedic too. Just for being stubborn on the one bed, he was telling us he was willing to knock off 15-20% on the lower end tempurpedic based on the initial "What are you looking to spend" convo. (I think we told him $900 and targeted a $1700 memory foam. I think a tempurpedic was going for $2200 and he brought it down to $1700 ish which was the listed price of the one we were sitting on and said he was doing us a favor because we looked nice?) He even knocked delivery down to $50 and refused to go free because he claimed they hire a third party to do it, but would knock of an additional $50 on the mattress. Isn't that the same thing?
All in all, worth doing once or twice just for fun. I didn't even feel bad and I hate bargaining. He came to us and knocked down the price while we chatted about life on a mattress in a store.
My SO and I tried this autumn 2013 in both 17th ave sleep country and Royal Oak location. Royal Oak was about 45% off, and 17th ave guy gave 35% and refused to budge after my SO accidentally let it slip we came from the Royal Oak location. (He demanded to see the card of the guy who haggled with us in a rude way so I claimed I didn't have it with me even though it was in my pocket)
