Comfort first
I just recently left the bed business after 17 years in the largest bed chain so can talk from true experiences. Go to one of the major retailers and try the different styles. We have have different levels of comforts and that should always be your first deciding factor. Don't get caught up in the mfg hypes or some sales guy trying to push a certain direction as most are on straight commission and some brands make them more money than others.
RLS people usually go with King size as it is 2 extra long boxes and on big mattress not just twin as they are short. You can also go 2x twin xl and push them together if you wish too as an option if you want to go extreme. Keep in mind not every model is available in that size.
In the memory foam market Tempur is the original and is king. They do make the best longest lasting products without a doubt. It will be warmer to sleep on so make sure if you or your wife sleeps warm you take that into consideration. The one thing good about them is they also hardly move so the is an advantage for RLS people there too. Just also make sure you have a big wallet.
Sleep is important and be prepared to spend money but get what you need to make you feel better. Too many people cheap out and come back later for a second time around. Make sure they have a good exchange program so if you need to bring it back you can up $ and add or if you go down you get all your money back. Some places do not tell you but if you spend less they don't refund your dough.
If anything feel free to pm me and I will try to help you if you have any questions.
