Well frankly they have no power. Its a $1B budget, but basically they get what they get in terms of funding. The province decides how much money they get, and they complain its not enough. Then people complain about class sizes, or fees or whatever and the province refers them to the school board. Its just stupid, and there is no real power there (since they lost the power of taxation in the 90's). No one cares, and the board should be abolished for one super board province-wide. Far better use of the money we spend on education.
