3 time allstar, 2 time norris balloted, 1 time olympic appearance. most games played by a single Calgary Flames defenseman. I think he ranks in the top 5-10 in all-time Flames defenseman as well, so not jersey retirement status, but hovering around the FaF honors for sure.

Plus, the NHL's only Brazilian!
3 time All Star? What are talking about? I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he played in one young stars game, that is all.

I agree he was a good player, but not even close IMO to be getting Forever a Flame or jersey retirement type stuff. We can't start hanging every good likeable player from the rafters around here, that would be ridiculous. The truth of the matter is Calgary really hasn't had any super special players other than Kipper and Iggy on this roster for decades.......although here's hoping were seeing the start of a couple of other pretty special careers this season (23, 13).

Reg is behind a long list of other retired Flames who aren't hanging there yet, not that I think they should all be there, but Reg wouldn't even be top 10 of retired former Flames for me that should get honoured, maybe top 20. I think we get tinted by what were some pretty thin years talent wise on this club, starts to make us consider players like Reg for these honours.

But I will stop, Reg was a great Flame who I liked and is hanging him up. Good for him, great career and I'm glad he got a cup .
