Have you used a cell phone camera? You don't point the glowing part at the cop, you point the dark part at the cop. The glowing part is facing you.

You talk on your cell the same way you use a gun? Taking it out, holding it well in front of you, with one hand? Wacky, I've never seen anyone do that.
You don't see at all how cops in the middle of a crime scene could be made jumpy by someone pulling something out of their pocket and
pointing it at them in the dark? Your call I guess... personally, I can imagine a cop thinking the worst and acting on it.
