Maximum number of points the Flames can earn is 99. Not factoring in three point games, which will be poison for the Flames as well, with a single loss the most points the Flames could get is 97. Looking at gift point victories Calgary gets one against Arizona, Vancouver two against Arizona and Edmonton, Los Angeles one against Edmonton, and Winnipeg one against Colorado. The Flames cannot afford a loss against either Winnipeg or Los Angeles as that will stretch the lead against that team, eliminating them from possible mode of a playoff berth. A loss to Los Angeles puts them to 98 points, with a game left against San Jose. A win against LA, but a loss to Winnipeg puts the Flames at 97 points, with the Jets at 98 points (counting a loss to St. Louis but a win against Colorado). The schedule is not set up well for us. We need to win out.
