Not really. I'm uncertain how anyone could think Russia is a first world county at this point but Dave King's stories (reading King of Russia is a must) and the Lokomotiv plane crash pretty clearly show that even the promise of millions isn't always worth it.
Finland and Sweden offer 200 to 400k/ year, but average attendance is comparable to the AHL. Mostly this is due to population. Stockholm has a 900K people.
The Swiss league by contrast is the
best attended league outside the NHL.
So really not a ton of incentive for Swiss players.
