Alpha Blockers don't have the side effects you listed, 5 alpha reductase inhibitors do.

BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) is relatively common. The cause is pretty simple: the prostate enlarges to the point is restricts urine flow. Prostates grow all your life, but for many men it grows enough to cause a problem. The reason a person goes to the bathroom more is because when they do go, they can never really empty the bladder because of the restriction at the prostate. It then fills up again wiggly and you have to go again.

There are two medication types used: Alpha Blockers (relax smooth muscle capsule which relieves some symptoms) and 5 alpha reductase inhibitors (blocks testosterone from becoming active in prostate tissue which decreases growth).

With newer drugs in both groups that are more specific for receptors found in the prostate, those side effects you listed are really rare. They are very, very well tolerated medications.
