I think Sven can and will mature. What really brought this to a head though was he made it clear he wouldn't do that with the Flames. So the team had to maximize the value for the asset.
We know what players fetch in trade when they are waiver eligible - and it ain't a lot. So the Flames had to assess the chances of him making the team next year and the return they'd like get for him then - v. what they could get for him now. And they made a call based on that.
Makes sense to me.

It's just simply saying I disagree with their thinking, the net result is the same no matter how it's phrased.
I just think he's not mentally strong yet, when he's feeling good he plays great, when not? seems to sulk or mope. And no doubt in my mind he can overcome that and have a decent NHL career.
I never said it doesn't make sense, it does. But Sven also has the potential for this to bite us in the butt, time will tell.
