I'm 50/50 on ELC vs 2nd round. If Sam lives uo to his potential, his cap hit could be significant. More time never hurt. End of the day I'd rather win a Cup or two during Sam's Prime than make the second round on fumes eithout Giordano, Ortio, etc only to get rolled by Playoff Kings.

I mean, if I can have both, give me both. But I'd err towards caution. If this is a second round team without Sam/Gio that's preferable.

The EXP is good, but that extra year of ELC... i just think of the 2010 Blackhawks and even this year's Kings with their RFA studs.
