You can make an argument through rose coloured glasses for 20 players. Hudler's one. Vrbata's another for the Canucks. Turris in Ottawa. They're not even so far and away important on their individual team to be the run away MVP, let alone the MVP of the entire league.
When you have guys like Price who are carrying their team to the top of a division, or Dubnyk who are carrying their team out of lottery territory to the play-offs. Or looking at how Chicago has suffered without Kane. Then your eastern darlings in Ovechkin and Crosby.
Hudler's contribution is good, but not on this level. If I were Monahan I'd take umbrage with the thought that Hudler's what got him 30. Kid is a gamer, and would likely do that with any one. It's not like he's Burrows to Hudler's Sedin.
