I think this is the more likely answer than any idea of trying to lose to hurt the Kings.
Right now, the Blues are a point up on Chicago, and play the Hawks twice before the end of the season. You have to think that they'd rather play Chicago with home ice advantage than let Chicago have it.
The Flames are a team they've outscored 8-1 in two games this season. If they're resting guys, it's because they think they can afford to do it for this game.
