In my opinion the true criminals here are firstly Hezbolah for hiding in amonst homes and civilians and secondly the parents who chose to let themselves and their children become human shields.
When London was being bombed in WW2 they sent the majority of the children and a lot of the women to the country out of harms way. They didn't need leaflets to be dropped imploring them to protect their children. It is a natural reaction for parents to protect. Why was these children still hold up in an area where Hezebolah was firing missiles? Did they acheive martyrdom for themselves by standing in harms way?
If I was Israel I wouldn't risk any of their native sons in a land war sorting through who is civilian and who is terrorist. If people were firing rockets or rocks for that matter at Canada with the intent to murder civilians I would blast whereever those rockets came from. I wouldn't ask my sons to deal with landmines and ambushes to save my enemies children either. I didn't put them in harms way: They did.
As far as the UN goes; they're idiots! You don't expect a nation who was drawn into a war to meet force with equal force. You attack with every asset you have in order to defeat the enemy quickly and decisively. If the UN would have enforced their order for Hezbolah to disarm and leave the border area this war wouldn't have happened.
Now this war will continue until Hezbolah is destroyed or they run out of their stockpile of rockets that they were allowed to collect and hide under the watchful eye of the UN.
