I think a very self-depricating host is a big part of the spirit of the show, (which is why John Oliver could fill in for Stewart so well in his absence). In any of Noah's pieces that I've seen, he's always been in a role that's smart and confident (to juxtapose with Stewart), but I'm not convinced he'll bring the right voice to the show.
But that's just me. I don't do well with change in late-night shows. I usually stop watching after a change, whether it's a change in host or in format.
