Joni Mitchell in intensive care after being found unconscious

Legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell is in intensive care in a Los Angeles hospital after being found unconscious in her Bel Air home.

According to her official website, the Canadian music icon was rushed to hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

"Joni was found unconscious in her home this afternoon. She regained consciousness on the ambulance ride to an L.A. area hospital," reads the statement. 

"She is currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits. More updates to come as we hear them."
