Yeah, they are getting creative with the zombie kills, but the chain one felt silly to me. And the Rick head pop one seemed to be a total rip off of The Mountain crushing Oberyn's head in GoT last year.
The car door one was cool and funny.
I liked the episode and was entertained but didn't think it was amazing. Also, while I was originally excited for 90 minutes, it felt a bit slow, definitely dragged in parts.
The Good:
Morgan is back, and he's a kick ass buddhist monk to boot!
Great acting in that first scene.
Building up the threat of The Wolves, exciting and intriguing.
Gabriel, was creepily cool, found myself actually raging at him and his actions.
The Bad:
The resolution between the main group and the new group seemed quick and a little forced. Was liking the dark tone Rick and Carol were taking and the tension between the rest of the group and the new community.
Was there any point for the whole Glenn v asshat scene? I mean, build tension I guess, get some action in there. But it didn't make much sense (why would he follow him out into the woods? didn't he think it seemed fishy?) and was pretty unnecessary.
The inconsistency in the zombie chases and cuts. The worst being under the trailers. At one point it appeared to show zombies crawling in from both sides, then all of a sudden they escape through one side. The whole bit in the lot there had them cornered many times and then they miraculously escape. Also Glenn getting out of a zombie dogpile seemed unlikely too. But as I sad before, I guess the zombie parts aren't really worth getting upset about. It's often typical action movie stuff.
