The worst thing, it could be several different things.
Try updating the firmware of your DVD drive.
What speed is the DVD? I have found that 2X DVD's (older one's) do this sometimes. Try using newer DVD's if you are suing older one's.
Try changing the program that you are using.
Try changing DVD brands.
Video card could be a problem.
