IMO, 3y between $7.5M & $10.5M should be the negotiating range for both sides.

1) I'm gonna go with a statistical blip. Love the Player but I don't think he will be a 2 top forward 2-3 year down the road.

2) as a UFA I think he could get 4-5y $5-6M. But he is an RFA, and not they type of guy that gets offer sheeted, so he be working with the Flames or holding out for a trade.

3) Yes signing him long term is as high risk as they come. I just don't think give a 5+ year contract to a guy who just blew his career potential out of the water.
