Its my understanding from someone within the organization that the team and him were less than $100 000 a year on coming to terms on a medium term deal.
From what he gathers it was an insignificant amount of money to the team and the negotiations dragged on a lot longer than they should have in order to establish precedent.
If this is true than you can bet that Mr. Bouma will be smiling now!
