Personally I'm torn because its liberty and privacy versus public safety to me.

I would assume that pilots have to take regular physicals, I would assume that they have to take fairly regular mental health checks. I just believe and its in any job that can put the public at risk that public safety needs to supercede the right to privacy.

To me from what I'm hearing, this guy shouldn't have been flying, and if this note said the same then he should have been obligated to forget about the patients rights and gone to his employer with his concerns.

If this makes me a bad guy then so be it. 150 people are dead because of what I see as a conflict that possibly shouldn't exist.
