I suppose that was my sexist way of assuming that the pilot was a full grown man, and that a stewardess is a more easily overpowered woman.
The problem is that you don't know who the crazy people are. Maybe it's the flight attendant. As soon as she's put in the cockpit, she uses the training she's been taking on the side to Vulcan nerve pinch the remaining pilot and guide the plane to doom.
Unfortunately, all I have is problems for this solution. I considered that the real answer would be technology. Each pilot has a medic alert bracelet that informs the nearest control tower that the plane is under hostile command, and then the tower can magically take over control, but I guess that could get hacked.
I'm just gonna go back to shutting up.
