I'd rather he spend another year and try and develop more offensively. I think if he goes to the AHL next year, he'll just end up fighting all the time and not developing any real skills.

He's going to be a bottom 6 player if he pans out and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Given his skill set, there is no point in having him playing top 6 with and against teenagers for another season. Might as well start grooming him for the role he will have if/when he makes it. He has the potential to be a 6'7" Brandon Prust, might as well start getting him ready for that, against men and under the direct guidance of flames coaches/management.
