Despite them being a package, Clarkson sort of is a first among equals.
The re-launch was his idea and it's his charisma and character that drives the show. If you read his articles, his books, or his non-Top Gear videos, you can see it all comes through much the same.
Clarkson has done various independent motoring segments in the past, without Hammond and May and sometimes including other ex-Top Gear presenters (Tiff Needle) and it feels the same as Top Gear. The guy is Top Gear and even if he splits for Sky or ITV or Netflix and make "Not Gear", it will be the same show.
I am just really curious what the remaining already filmed segments of Top Gear and the finale were. We may never see those hit the light of day.
