no health premiums, - Funny thing; when I moved here I had the exact same salary. Except my after tax income was about $50 per month higher. Just because the health premiums are burried in your taxes doesn't make them any cheaper.
school system- Can't speak to that as I don't have kids.
affordable family activities. - But how many times can you really go to the Forks? (If memory serves the zoo is no longer free in Winnipeg.)
It is quite obvious that she is new to Calgary, and like many people new to our city they miss home. She will move back to Winnipeg, discover that she misses Calgary more than she missed Winnipeg, and then move back. I did it, many others do it as well.
