Playing top line with Hudler, Gaudreau, Brodie and Gio most the season doesnt hurt. Especially Hudler and Gaudreau. They never have to look at the puck once its on their stick and can hit you with a perfect pass you just need to keep your stick on the ice and find a bit of room - heck they can pass to you if you have no room sometimes.
I think Monahan is progressing just the way I thought he would - but much quicker. Does that have to do with being paired with 2 world class playmaking wingers? Maybe. Probably to an extent. But I think his 2 way game and consistency is more impressive than the offensive numbers. Didnt expect a rookie 20 goal season or a sophmore 30 but I thought he would reach those totals as soon as I watched his wrist shot in development camp. Funny enough he was on a line with JG and Gaudreau set him up for a goal in that camp scrimmage IIRC. .
