I'm just basing on what I've seen, I'm not remotely pretending to be a pro-scout or to disparge their beliefs. McDavid is amazing but Eichel could go down as the greatest player to ever play the game, the things he does are just unfair. He'll instantly be a Selke candidate and I expect 100+ points a season out of him. Imagine if Johnny was 6'2 and could switch up between his own style of play and a bit of a "protect the puck" style of play of a Joe Thornton, with the same vision as those two players, with elite skating, and elite defense.
Even if McDavid's a bit better at his peak, Eichel would be a better fit for our team as he brings all the things we need - size, a right-handed shot, possession-driving. And if Eichel's worse, hey that's better for us as it keeps us cheaper against the Salary Cap.
