Oh I know they don't grab the puck down low - I have played once or twice. It's more on the boards or on loose pucks in the slot where he's on the open wing side. Plus he's fairly easy to pass around on the points or through the slot - that's just experience (and a bit of a reach factor too).
He's lots better than he was, and one thing he's good at is making sure the puck exits the zone when he does get a stick on it.
