See, this is the problem with him and the same problem existed when he was on the Flames near the end of his tenure. I really don't believe he is able to be a complimentary piece at this point. His presence is just too strong and he casts a large shadow but he also isn't an elite player anymore and can't carry a team.
I know it's not going to be a popular opinion, but I do feel that the Avs would be better off without him just like we are. Maybe if Iginla was on a good team with a really strong veteran presence, but I think he has too much gravitational pull on a young team like the Avs and he would in Calgary too. Perhaps over the next couple of seasons, the Avs and Iginla will adapt.
It's really time to turn the page for us though.
