I'm getting frustrated by the apparent non-existence of the laptop I want to buy.

Here is what I want. I want a laptop that can, without any difficulty, play movies on the highest-quality screen, with high-quality sound (for a laptop). This is the main reason I want this thing. I want a large screen. I do not care at all about size or weight.

I would like good performance, but do not need gaming-rig level performance. Assume I am doing nothing more load-intensive than watching Netflix, Gamecentre, or a 1080p video, but assume that I may be doing multiple things at once. So I probably need 8gb of ram, which is pretty standard these days.

Further assume that I don't care THAT much about battery life, but I do care about cooling. Particularly since all my laptops recently have had major overheating problems.

I would like the ability to use an SSD. Partly, this is because I happen to have a 500gb 2.5" SSD handy. If at all possible, the ideal setup would be an HDD/SSD setup (two drives). This setup is pretty common in gaming rigs, but only in gaming rigs so far as I can see.

Oddly, this setup does not seem to exist. When I was looking years ago (maybe 2011) there was one maker selling a 19" widescreen laptop with fancy front-facing speakers that was clearly designed for this specific purpose. There doesn't seem to be a product on the market that I can find now that would do this. The closest thing I can seem to find is the Acer V17 Nitro Black Edition (which is still more of a gaming laptop).

Can anyone suggest a solution here?
