This Alvin Williams release thing is a also full of B.S.
Why doesn't everyone just admit that neither side was sure what the legal outcome could be of the contract re: unplayable... so they negotiated an out.
Williams saying that he wanted to play at the end of last year and stay with the Raps and thinks he may be able to play...... how the heck could this not be determined/proven in practice, simulated game conditions, summer league, etc. I believe (until someone wisens me different) both sides were afraid of an ambiguously written contract and afraid to be held accountable if they were the ones to push for practice/play and the knee was re-injured. Neither side (Williams nor Raps) wanted to test the knee before they negotiated the release.
My only explanation: a poorly worded contract that ended up being in no-ones best interest.
