Yeah despite G-Sync being touted as an option to help out lower-end cards, this upcoming gamut of 144hz 4K 27" monitors that are in the $1000+ price range are definitely directed at high-end users. 6xx/7xx/9xx series cards should have DisplayPort support out of the box.
