Like yesterday ... I was out with friends, came home at around midnight and thought "well, the Flames have a game in an hour ... might as well watch one period". And of course, I went on to watch the whole game again. Just a fun team playing the right way. This is already a promising team, and the thought of adding Sam Bennett next season makes me giggle like a schoolgirl. Exciting times

As for the Leafs, I was shocked. They are doomed, I don't think they can salvage this mess quickly. Edmonton part 2. Their first period was the most pathetic period of hockey I've seen in a very long time. I feel the Flames could have made it to double digits if they had wanted to, but obviously it was great to save some energy for today's game. If you can spread the minutes like the Flames did yesterday, it's huge. Russell/Wideman played 5 minutes less than usual.
I have to agree there the Leafs didn't even want to win this one shocking lack of work ethic. They will have to get rid of their leadership and try and get some people in who can show their young guys the right way to play. Reilly seeing these guys float around the ice can't be good for his development especially as someone who need to learn the defensive game. Kessel and Phaneuf are dropping their value with their lack of character showing through.
