Ah 2004, what a great year! Despite being only 10 years old, I remember everything. I remember going to game 3 against the Canucks. My ears rang all night. It was insane. I still to this day have not heard the dome that loud, and I went to game 3 of the Finals that year and the Canada-Russia WJC game when they almost tied it up.
At school we were all encouraged to wear our Flames jersey's/tshirts/etc, and of course one kid decided to wear his Canucks jersey. That kid promptly had the daylights knocked out of him and the school made a rule that we were not allowed to wear Flames gear (a rule that I disobeyed and that was removed after the first round).
I remember my dad driving me to school and letting me stay in the car in the morning to listen to "In Da Dome", despite being late for school. I hadn't heard it before but everyone was talking about it.
I remember being told to go to bed before games had ended, but I had hid an old TV (with bunny ears) in my closet and would sneak in there at night to watch, then staying up until 2am listening to the post-game show on the radio.
I remember my dad getting me out of "bed" for the last 2 minutes of game 6 against the Sharks. We went outside after the game and all that could be heard was car horns honking and people yelling and celebrating.
And I remember crying on my couch when the Flames lost in game 7 of the finals. So sad, but so many good memories. I don't remember a whole lot from when I was that young, but I remember just about everything from that run.
