Keep in mind that the Flames have a deep pool of forward prospects in Jankowski's age range and potential. He will take up a contract spot and likely be far down the AHL depth list. The draft pick becomes more appealing when you take these things into consideration.
The Flames need to evaluate the chance of Jankowski becoming anything more than a 3rd liner and go from there.
